OUR PROTOTYPE
Sensing System
Sensing System
Sensing System
Individual sensors take HR, RR, SpO2, and Temperature and wirelessly transmit them to a central tablet.
The tablet processes the information from the sensors and provides a high level overview of all infants.
Nurses recieve alerts when an infant's health deteriorates.
SENSING SYSTEM
A resistance band passes through the majority of the system and records the repiratory rate of the patient.
The current system uses bra-like design to fit different sized infants without needing major adjustments.
Temperature sensors are embedded in the band itself, optimally placed to aquire correct temperature.
We also have attached a reflectance based heart rate monitor that will be pressed against the infant by the band.
All of these sensors send their signals to a tablet through our wireless XBee network, a protocol similar to bluetooth.
SENSING SYSTEM
TABLET SYSTEM
Along this tablet interface, urgent care alerts will be sent directy to caretakers through an SMS system.
